Arksio is designed with your privacy as the top priority. Your documents, photos, and files stay on your device and in your personal iCloud account. Arksio does not store your documents on its servers, and we cannot access, view, or retrieve your documents, photos, or files. The only exception is the optional AI Renewal Guide: when you use it, the specific details described in the “AI Renewal Guide” section below are sent to generate your guide.
We collect only what you enter in the app: family member names, document types, expiry dates, document numbers, notes, insurance details, and photos or PDFs of your documents. This data is stored exclusively on your iPhone and your personal iCloud account. The details sent when you use the AI Renewal Guide are described in that section.
All your data is stored locally on your iPhone using AsyncStorage. Photos and PDF files are saved to your app Documents folder (Documents/arksio_docs/). This folder is automatically backed up and synced to your personal iCloud account by iOS — Arksio has no access to this data.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your Arksio data including photos and files will be automatically backed up and synced across your Apple devices using the same Apple ID. This sync is managed entirely by Apple — Arksio cannot access your iCloud data.
Account login is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC), which supports email/password, Google Sign In, and Apple Sign In. Firebase Auth only stores your email address and display name for login purposes. Your password is never stored by Arksio. Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) is handled entirely by iOS.
Only you can access your documents, photos, and files. They are stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, and Garmor Ventures LLC and its staff have no access to them. We do not sell or rent your data. We only share the limited information described in this policy with the service providers that make the app work (see “Third-party services”).
When you use the Share Document feature, a PDF is generated locally on your device. You choose what to include and who to share it with. Arksio does not transmit this PDF through any server.
The AI Renewal Guide is an optional Premium feature. When you use it, Arksio sends the following to our server (Google Cloud Functions, through Firebase) and from there to Anthropic, PBC, the provider of the Claude AI model that writes your guide: the document type, issuing country or organization, expiry date, the notes you added to that document, your approximate location (city, region, and country, only if you allow location access), and the messages you write in the chat. To find current information, the AI may run web searches based on these details. We never send your photos, PDFs, or the names of your family members.
Our server does not store the content of your conversations. To enforce daily limits and prevent abuse, it keeps your account ID and the number and size of the requests you make each day. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this information to train its models, and may retain it for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring (anthropic.com/legal/privacy). If you do not use the AI Renewal Guide, none of this information leaves your device.
Renewal reminders are scheduled locally on your device using iOS notifications. No personal data is transmitted to any server to send these notifications.
Arksio does not use any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking tools. We do not collect behavioral data, usage statistics, or device identifiers.
Your data lives on your device. You can delete all app data at any time from Profile → Manage Account → Clear All Data. Deleting the app removes all local data. To also remove data from iCloud, go to Settings → [Your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Arksio → Delete Data. AI Renewal Guide usage records (account ID, date, and number and size of requests) are kept on our server to enforce limits; you can request their deletion at privacy@arksio.app.
Arksio uses these service providers: Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) for account login; Google Cloud Functions and Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) to run the AI Renewal Guide and keep daily usage counters; Anthropic, PBC to generate AI Renewal Guide answers; and RevenueCat, Inc. to manage Premium subscriptions (it receives your account ID and App Store purchase history, not your documents). None of these providers has access to your photos or files. Their privacy policies: policies.google.com/privacy, anthropic.com/legal/privacy, and revenuecat.com/privacy.
Your data is protected by iOS device encryption, Face ID/Touch ID app lock, and iCloud encryption. Apple encrypts all iCloud data in transit and at rest. Arksio adds an additional app-level biometric lock for extra protection.
Arksio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Since your data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud, you have full control over it at all times. You can access, modify, export, or delete your data directly within the app or through iOS/iCloud settings.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Arksio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
